Judith Sheindlin, better known as TV-favorite Judge Judy, has listed her New York City penthouse for $9.5 million.

The popular court show arbitrator and her husband Jerry Sheindlin, have put their duplex penthouse with a wraparound terrace and stunning views on the market since she bought it in 2013.

The penthouse at 14 Sutton Place South is currently listed by Compass realtors Tom Postilio and Mickey Conlon.

On top of the multi-million-dollar price tag is a monthly maintenance for the four bedroom, four bathroom penthouse at $10,130.

Sheindlin said she and her husband are looking for something a little smaller, according to the NY Times.

Sheindlin and her husband bought the duplex apartment in 2013, but she said she is looking for something smaller

'We've enjoyed this jewel of an apartment,' Sheindlin said. 'Time to simplify.'

When the couple originally bought the home, they used the penthouse as a pied-à-terre, a term referring to a small abode for occasional use.

The penthouse, which Sheindlin referred to as a 'jewel,' sits on top of a 14 story building in Midtown East. The brick and limestone building was designed by renowned architect Rosario Candela in the late 1920s but was converted into a co-op in the 1950s.

This apartment boasts a charming blend of classic details and spacious living, including two original wood-burning fireplaces with ornate mantels, classic moldings and hardwood floors, and a curved wrought-iron and wood staircase.

The 10-foot-high ceilings and generously proportioned rooms offer a sense of openness and airy comfort - a rare feeling in a New York City apartment.

Over the years, the Sheindlins have kept the original layout of the apartment relatively intact with the exception of a few cosmetic changes.

'There's a modernity to the layout and an openness,' Conlon said, 'It's grand, but not ostentatious in any way.'

'Classic and stunning,' Postilio added, 'not cookie-cutter.'

In addition to the living quarters, the apartment comes with two powder rooms, more colloquially known as half-baths, and a wood-paneled library.

Properly irrigated and landscapes, the terrace is the perfect place to grow a garden.

From there, you enter a state-of-the-art windowed kitchen with a center wooden island, marble countertops, and luxury appliances.

A half bath was added just off the kitchen, which was originally a wine cellar.

Past the kitchen is the formal dining room, where floor-to-ceiling French casement doors open to a remarkable terrace with jaw-dropping views of the Big Apple and the East River.

Properly irrigated and landscapes, the terrace is the perfect place to grow a garden.

You can also enter the terrace through the living room, which features a wood-burning fireplace with ornate mantels.

Adjoining the living room is the library, complete with its own fireplace and a convenient half bath.

Near the apartment's main entrance is a staircase that leads to the lower level, where the four bedrooms are located. The master bedroom has its own sitting area, three closets, and built-in-storage. Only one bedroom does not have its own bathroom.

'There's a beautiful separation from the public and private spaces and even from the bedrooms,' Mr. Conlon said. 'It is absolutely a jewel box. And it's comfortable.'
